Asher Bearman
As an attorney, I regularly represent venture capital and private equity funds, emerging growth companies, and other investors in private securities markets. It's a fast paced practice and I'm happy to say that I love it - I love working with investors and entrepreneurs and knowing that our work is instrumental in creating jobs in our area and enhancing our economy.
My practice focuses on fund formation and administration, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. My clients are venture capital and private equity funds small and large. In the past few years, I regularly form funds of between $500K and $500M. I regularly represent companies and investors in seed, debt and venture capital financings of all types, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate, and related matters.
Trent and I created this blog because we often get asked similar questions by investors, entrepreneurs and company executives. We thought this would be a good forum to share some of the information and lessons we have learned in our nearly two decades (and two recessions) of practice.
I was born and raised on the eastside of Seattle and currently live just south of the city with my wife and our two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. I attended the University of Washington for both undergraduate and law school and have been a huge Husky fan since I was a little kid.
I also serve on the board of directors of Seattle Humane - The Humane Society for Seattle/King County.
